See the Difference with Vitamin C + MyChelle

Hey everyone! I hope you all are enjoying this cooler weather. I’m so thankful that it’s not 80 degrees when I leave work at night. And how are enjoying the time change? I’m loving the extra hour of sleep I get; however, it feels like it’s SO late all the time when it gets dark at 5pm. I have found myself going to bed earlier which is KEY to a healthy body. My friends over at MyChelle sent me three products to try for healthier skin and I want to share them with you today. I can definitely see a difference with the Vitamin C contained in these powerful skincare products.

If you know, you know that I’m a sucker for pretty packaging. I love clean, sleek packaging and MyChelle definitely fits the bill. But what I love even more is products that work. I love products that do what they claim to do.

First up, the “Perfect C Radiance Lotion” is a handy moisturizer that is best when used daily. When moisturizers are light enough to be used daily, they are a must-have in my opinion. I do not like putting on a heavy moisturizer that weighs my skin down.

About the Perfect C Radiance Lotion:

This velvety-rich, nutrient- and moisture-restoring lotion delivers a potent 12% dose of L-Ascorbic Acid combined with Plant C-Stem™ and Licorice Extract to help brighten and protect skin from the effects of environmental pollution for a smoother and more luminous complexion.

The “Perfect C Pro Speed Peel” is up next. When I can get spa-like benefits in an at-home peel, count me in. My schedule is demanding. I’m either usually at work on on the road, so this product is perfect for me. After cleansing my face, I apply this product.

About the Perfect C Pro Speed Peel:

An Industry First! This one-step professional Vitamin C peel, is formulated with a powerful dose of 10% L-Ascorbic Acid, 1% L-Lactic Acid, Plant C-Stem™ and Retinal to deliver youthful, glowing skin. Formulated with 25% Citrus Fruit fragrant puree, in only one minute, this fact-acting peel retexturizes skin while gently exfoliating to deliver youthful, soft, and glowing skin.

Lastly, I follow with “Bio-Firm Hydrogel Concentrate” before I head off to bed. This powerful concentrate is one that helps skin to regenerate while I sleep! When a product works without much effort from me, I’m sold.

About Bio-Firm Hydrogel Concentrate:

A concentrated 2% Hyaluronic Acid moisture-binding gel that melts to instantly smooth and fi rm skin. Packed with potent Alpine Nunatak™ Plant Stem Cells and Crocus Chrysanthus Bulb Extract to help fi rm and provide deep nourishment and hydration.

What I really like about these products is the care that MyChelle puts into creating effective treatments without compromising on ingredients.  All MyChelle products are Vegetarian, Cruelty-free, and Free of Phthalates, Parabens, Sulfates, Ureas, Artificial Fragrances and Colors, Petroleum, GMOs, and Gluten.

The One Soap-Free Cleanser You Need: Exuviance

Hey y’all! Temperatures have finally dropped around here where it’s not 80 degrees in the fall. This weekend the high is only in the 40’s! For Arkansas, that’s cold. I’m thinking Uggs & blanket scarf weather ;) I’m back today with another product that will definitely benefit your skin throughout the harsh fall/winter months. If you didn’t catch it, be sure to check out my “intro to fall beauty” post here. In today’s post, I’m sharing the one soap-free cleanser you need from Exuviance.

Take it from me, it is SO much easier to keep your skin hydrated before winter arrives. It is much harder to try to get moisture back into your skin after you’ve already lost it. I have made this mistake several times, mostly when I was younger and didn’t realize how important taking care of my skin was. If there is one thing that dries skin out, it is soap. Thankfully, Exuviance has developed a soap-free cleanser that works wonders on my skin.

What I look for in a cleanser:

*safe for my sensitive skin

The most important thing for me in cleanser is that it deep cleans. It is a bonus if it removes makeup and doesn’t just smear it all over my face. I don’t like having to wash my face more than once, and this Exuviance cleanser works for me.

More benefits include:

*anti-aging properties through Alpha and Poly Hydroxy Acids

*exfoliation & clarification through Glycolic Acid (AHA) and Gluconolactone (PHA)

*safe for all skin types, even sensitive skin

How To Use:

This product is made to be used every morning and every night. If I can tell you one thing about skincare, it is super important to be consistent! I will notice that my skin can break out super easily if it’s dry or if I’m not consistent with my cleanser. One myth I’ve dispelled is the fact that moisturizer might make my skin break out. When washing your face with a great cleanser like this one, be sure to apply a nice layer of moisturizer on top. This step is important to keep your skin hydrated. And don’t worry, moisturizer won’t cause you to break out. The only thing that causes me to break out is going to bed with a full face of makeup on ;) Don’t be like me! Wash your face consistently each morning and evening.

Benefits I’ve Seen:

I’ve used this products for 2 weeks now. I didn’t realize how harsh other soap-based cleansers were probably treating my skin. I found myself looking forward to washing my face, because it felt so soft and clean afterwards. I think it’s important to use this cleanser morning and night to see the full benefits it can bring. My skin is hydrated, fresh, and bright. I have had a couple of comments stating how bright & alive I look when showing up at work. This is exciting, because no one wants to have dull skin in the fall/winter. My sensitive skin has found its match in this soap-free cleanser. I’m obsessed with the benefits and look forward to trying out more Exuviance products.

How To Purchase:

Head over to the Exuviance website and check out their great supply of skincare products. This specific soap-free cleanser can be purchased here.

I hope you enjoyed seeing the benefits of this cleanser. I only share products here that I’ve tried and LOVE. I would like to hear how you keep your skin healthy & hydrated this fall & winter. Let me know in the comments below ;)

Weekly Hair Routine

Hey y’all! With cooler temperatures around the corner, I knew I wanted to find a weekly hair routine that I would be able to follow this fall & winter. I work well with a routine in my life. I like to have a plan for the next day before I go to bed. I like to plan out my month ahead of time and update the calendars on my computer every single day. I also have learned that it’s very important to protect your skin and hair from the harsh temperatures BEFORE it gets cold. Take it from me, it’s way easier to keep moisture in your skin and hair than to get moisture back once you’ve lost it. ALL that being said, here’s my current weekly hair routine:

Once weekly: Neutrogena Shampoo + Living Proof hair protector

weekly hair routine, rebekaheliz, neutrogena, shampoo, living proof, night cap, hair protector

NOTHING is better than a product that does exactly what it claims to do. This Neutrogena shampoo is the perfect example. On the box it comes in, it says “use this shampoo once a week to help your favorite shampoo work better”. This is true. I use this shampoo once weekly to get rid of all the buildup in my hair and on my scalp. We are talking dry shampoo, hair spray, you know what I mean ;) What I really like about it is that it’s not drying. It washes out cleanly and is under $5. Since I only use it once weekly, the bottle lasts for a while!

After I brush my hair out, I apply the Living Proof Night Cap Protector. I don’t apply it on my scalp though, because I don’t want it to get oily. It says that you can wash out in the morning, but I leave it in my hair. It keeps my ends hydrated and helps with preventing split ends. Another thing that may not work for everyone but works for me is that I do not dry my hair with a hair dryer. I let my hair air dry and usually go to bed with it wet. I have found that this helps my hair grow and it keeps my hair super healthy. I have to plan pretty well though, because sometimes it means a late night shower when I’m on a trip to prepare for being able to fix it the next morning.

Twice weekly: Redken mask + Matrix shampoo

redken, biolage, matrix, hair routine, hair mask, beauty tip, rebekaheliz, shampoo

This is the “reverse process” that I’ve been talking about on my social media. Since I found this combo, it’s completely changed my hair and how I feel about washing it. It used to be me dreading washing my hair, because then I would have to brush out all the tangles. I’m finding that this routine is helping my hair be way more manageable.

I apply this Redken mask to my hair and let sit for 15 minutes or so. Since I love to take baths, I just apply it right when I get in to damp hair and let it sit. I then rinse it out and wash my hair with this Matrix RAW shampoo. After rinsing, I brush out my hair and let it air dry overnight. With this combo, I can brush my hair out in 5 minutes, when it used to take 15-20.

Hairbrush I use: Wet Brush

This brush saved my life. I tend to get huge knots in my back of my hair around my neck. Thankfully, this brush helps me be able to brush through my hair easily. There are several versions of the wet brush. I’ve tried the original and the shine version. The original works the best in my opinion. Shop the products here:

Keep in mind, I have very wavy hair. My hair is about halfway down my back and is thick. This is the routine that works the best for me. My goals were shiny, voluminous hair that was easy to manage without getting tangly or frizzy. I’m happy to answer any questions you have! Comment below and I will get back to you ;)

Also, I wanted to let you know that since I work better on a strict schedule, I want to (try) to adhere to this schedule here on the blog for now:

Tuesdays: hair/beauty posts

Thursdays: travel posts

Eventually I would like to post more than twice per week, but I think this is a good start to get back into blogging more. Also, there may be other posts throughout the week just depending on what I have going on. Thanks for reading always. I’m so thankful for you!
