Happy Monday! I’m trying to keep the positive vibes going today, because I’m totally wishing I was still in bed. Anyways I hope everyone had a great weekend. Today I wanted to share a product that you probably never knew you needed: a hair scrub. Keep in mind that this post is in no way sponsored, I just found a product that worked well for me. L’oreal has perfected my hair washing game with its EverFresh Micro-Exfoliating hair scrub that you can find at your local drugstore.

You know I’m a dry shampoo addict. Two or three days in, the buildup on my scalp is pretty disgusting. I know that it’s much better for my hair not to wash it every day, so dry shampoo really helps get me through the week. I decided I needed a product to use when I did shampoo to help get the buildup out of my hair and off my scalp.

It was almost too good to be true, because I discovered this L’oreal EverFresh Micro-Exfoliating hair scrub. This stuff is worthy of all of the “hands raised” emojis. Do you remember that apricot face scrub that everyone used to use? Well it was always way too harsh for the delicate skin on my face. The very thing that made that scrub too harsh for my skin is the exact thing that makes this product effective for your hair/scalp. This scrub has to be able to dig deep enough to get rid of all of the buildup.

How to use:
*Wet hair and apply an amount of scrub sufficient for your hair (I use a quarter size amount for my hair)
*Throw your hair up in a clip & let it sit for around 3 minutes then slowly work into your scalp using a gentle, circular motion
*Run through the entire length of your hair
*RINSE THOROUGHLY
*Shampoo & condition as usual
(use scrub up to twice weekly)

Reasons to love this product:
*Sulfate free
*Safe for color-treated hair
*Smells amazing
*It actually works!

This product has the keen ability to remove buildup from your hair while not stripping all of its moisture. The best news of all? This product is under $10 and can be found at the drugstore. I call that a win-win!

Finally it’s Wednesday! I’m so glad to have a day off tomorrow. I’m sleeping in then getting a massage! I can’t wait! I feel like summer is winding down, but I think I’m just dreaming. I’m specifically dreaming about fall, football, and sitting in front of the fire. But while it’s still summer, I’m continuing to try out beauty products made for this heat. Today I thought I would share what I got in my Sephora Play Box for July.

As you will see, every Sephora Play Box has a drawstring bag with the products inside. This month’s theme was “Glamp Out” and trust me…you won’t find me camping but I don’t mind a good glamping weekend ;) I wrote a post about why I love the Sephora Play Box, so be sure to check it out if you want to know more. Here’s what I got in this month’s box:

sephora, sephora play, sephora play box, subscription box, beauty, makeup

(top to bottom, left to right) 1 // 2 // 3 // 4 // 5 // 6

This box made me smile for sure. These summer must-haves will transition us right into fall. I don’t know about you, but I’m going to need an entire skin overhaul once we get into September. I have been taking better care of my face when it comes to sun though, so hopefully that will have helped.

Hands down I’m most excited about this Perricone MD moisturizer. I have tried a couple of other products from this brand, and I’m really excited about this moisturizer. PS it smells like roses!

Everyone loves the Viktor & Rolf flowerbomb perfume, so I’m sure this new fragrance will be a big hit. I’m not much about floral scents, so I will give this sample to a friend ;)

As busy as I am, my nightly routine has taken a back seat. I really need to be better about my hair masks, so this one from Madam CJ Walker is exciting! I will report back about how it works for my fine hair.

My Clinique lip balm melted in my car, so thankfully I have this travel size to take with me. The pink is the perfect color for everyone!

I have had this IT Cosmetics mascara for a couple of years now. I’m glad to have a travel size for my makeup bag, because I’m taking three different trips in August. I have long lashes but they are super straight. I like this mascara, because it adds plenty of volume.

I’m equally as excited about this REN rescue face mask. This 10-minute mask is formulated with white mushroom. I tried this last night, and it definitely helped my redness go down and made my face super soft.

Most versatile product: Clinique Balm (use on lips or cheeks), only $17!

Favorite product: Perricone MD Moisturizer & REN Rescue Mask

Happy Tuesday everyone! I’m still recovering from an #nsale hangover! Have you snagged any goodies? Be sure to let me know in the comments. This last weekend I booked a hotel strictly for a pool day for myself. I had been needing some sun, because I was am ghostly white. I knew I wanted an outdoor pool, and I knew I needed a new pool/beach bag. I’ve got you covered on all the pool day must-haves below.

As I’ve gotten older, I’ve gotten much more careful with my skincare regimen. With that being said, I’ve started wearing sunscreen every single day on my face. Even when you’re driving, you can get sunburned. Being a pharmacist, I’ve done lots of research on which sunscreen I should use. I’m also allergic to a popular sunscreen brand, so I had to find something that would work for me.

After all my research, I chose this Neutrogena sunscreen. It feels amazing on your skin, and doesn’t make my eyes burn if it gets in my eyes. I wore this in the pool and my face didn’t burn one bit. It absorbs quickly! I recommend reapplying every hour or two when swimming.

This Kate Somerville moisturizer is what I wear on a daily basis right now. It has SPF 50 and is anti-aging. I highly recommend this. My esthetician said to be sure your face gets at least SPF 30.

Coola makes this great makeup setting spray with SPF in it! I wouldn’t use this product by itself, but it’s a great add-on to your sunscreen regimen. It’s refreshing as well.

I think I’ve told you before, but I use heat protectant on my hair when in the sun. I really like this Orlando Pita Play spray. It smells good and works well to protect my hair! ***Be sure to visit my post on healthy summer hair here!***

This cosmetic bag is perfect for the pool, because the inside has a plastic coating. If you want to throw a wet bathing suit inside, that works too. The canvas stripes are fun, and they come in a set of 3 with a sunglasses pouch!

Here’s what to look for in a sunscreen:

*protection from BOTH UVA & UVB rays

*SPF 30 is ideal

*water-resistant if sweating or swimming

*ingredients: avobenzone, titanium dioxide

Tips to remember about sun:

*lips can burn, too (try this)

*ears, hair part, and nose can burn quickly

*wear sunscreen even if you’re tan

I will be sharing more about where I stayed in Thursday’s blog post! It was the perfect weekend getaway with a pool to get my tan on ;)

Thanks for reading! Let me know if you have any questions about sunscreen!
