How To Get In the Holiday Spirit

Happy Thursday everyone! Can you believe that it’s only 17 days until Christmas? If you’ve been following me on Instagram, you know that I am obsessed with the holidays (and I have been for a while). I also get very excited at the possibility of snow around here. We don’t get a whole lot in Arkansas, so I take what I can get ;) Today I wanted to share some ways that I get in the holiday spirit. I would love to hear your ideas, too!

I recommend a red or a gold glitter! (Be sure to use my favorite combo of topcoat & drying drops!)

My two favorites are the Holiday & Home Alone!

Eat everything peppermint

We are talking candy canes, peppermint bark, and mint chocolate!

I love “Flannel” & “Winter” by Bath & Body Works! I also like Visions of Sugar Plum & Spruce Cuttings by Voluspa.

How-To: Wear Animal Print

How to Wear Animal Print
By Ever Pretty US

From a zebra print dress to a pair of snakeskin shoes, animal print is a daring style choice, but one that is not as hard to pull off as many people think. Unlike other patterns, animal prints are unique in that they are rarely the fad of the moment, but they are almost never completely out of style either. Even small items with animal print are eye-catching, and destined to be the centerpiece of an outfit, so choose your signature animal print clothing and accessories carefully. Here are some tips for wearing animal print like a true fashionista.

Don’t Match Large Print Items

Head-to-toe animal print is almost always a major fashion faux pas. This doesn’t mean that you can’t wear a single large item like a printed dress, but make sure to pair it with neutral shoes and bags. If you animal print items are smaller then they can be paired with a matching small accessory to create symmetry in your outfit.

Pair Prints with Neutrals

Black, brown, gray, navy and white are the neutral shades that are generally safest to pair with any animal print. Strive for complementary colors – browns with leopard print, black with zebra – but don’t go so overboard that the overall effect is one of a costume.

Add Bright Colors

If matching neutrals more you, it’s also possible to pair your favorite animal print with a bright contrasting color. This tends to look best with more subdued prints, but even bold prints can look good in the right ensemble. Choose a solid color item that contrasts with the print, or, in other words, is located roughly opposite on the color wheel, to create a more dramatic effect. As is the general rule with animal print, keep your accessories simple to avoid an outfit that is too busy.

Incorporating animal print into your wardrobe is a great way to feel exciting, stylish, and like you’re destined to be the center of attention.

What are your favorite animal print pieces?

How To: Begin Holiday Shopping

how to shop for holidays, organization, organization for holiday shopping, holiday shopping how to, holiday shopping, shopping

Hey everyone! Today I would like to start what will be a couple of months of fun posts regarding the holidays & all it has to offer. I have some great ideas & giveaways lined to help you get in the spirit! I also want to share many amazing deals that I have been making a list of for a couple of weeks now. I will let you know what all is going on sale wise in the top bar under Sales, so click HERE for that! Also, I have made a section in bar above for Great Gifts Under $50, so just click on HERE to shop those.

I know many people out there don’t like to shop, but that’s what I’m here for. I LOVE TO SHOP. It’s like my passion. I want my blog to be somewhere you can come & be inspired by ideas or items that I’m obsessed with.

But today’s post is all about WHERE TO START. Holiday shopping can be a daunting task. In one word: OVERWHELMING.  I honestly think I could spend an entire year looking for the perfect gift for certain people ;) I’m here to help! My email is at the bottom of this post if you have any questions.

Here are my tips for starting your shopping before even setting foot in a store (or online store):

1. Grab the cute Holiday Organization chart below & start listing out all of the people you are going to buy for

*don’t forget teachers, kids’ teachers, bosses

2. Then start to combine the list into sections that you could purchase similar items for (make notes)

*for example: the new “41: A Portrait of my Father” book by George W. Bush would work for my dad, either of my grandpas, or my uncle

3. After you are confident you have a well-compiled list, start writing approximate amounts you would like to spend for each

*this helps majorly, because most stores (at least online) will have a place to choose how much you want to spend & the site will only show you those gifts; also important is to factor in tax/no tax/shipping/no shipping here!; REMEMBER: there are cut off dates for shipping, so in the printable I have included if the gift needs to be shipped or not (ALSO remember gift wrap)

4. Roughly make a small list for each person that would like to get him or her

*this doesn’t have to be specific…I’ll explain in #5

5. Here, start heading to websites/circulars and checking out the best days to shop

*this will most likely even give you some ideas that you might have not had in #4; ALSO before you throw away that junk mail, be looking through it for special deals & coupons

GOOD NEWS: I have made two adorable printables for you today that you can print to help you out with getting organized! Feel free to print as many as you want or even list them up on your blog (just link back to me ;)).
