How To Choose a Card for an Event

Hey y’all! I hope you had a great weekend. I am super excited to share a post with you that I’ve been working on with Basic Invite. It’s a new year, and that means a new graduating class. As many of you know, I graduated from pharmacy school last May. It was a super exciting time in my life. I think it’s important to share these memories and celebrations with those we love, so that’s where Basic Invite comes in. Today I want to share my process of how I choose a card for an event.

{ONE} Write down major details

{TWO} Figure out who your audience is

{THREE} Decide on a color scheme

{FOUR} Decide on a theme (bold? clean? shiny?)

{FIVE} Narrow your search

{SIX} Customize your heart out

I wanted to show you a card that I customized and tell you how easy it was! I promise, anyone can do this, because Basic Invite has made the process easy and effortless ;)

How adorable is this card? Graduation is all about you! You have worked so hard to achieve your goals, so have fun with your card. The card I chose was super girly and fun. I love the confetti polka dots on the front. In keeping with that theme, I chose to have pink polka dots on the back of my invitation. Also (not shown), I put my monogram inside the flap of the envelope for another added touch. I love that Basic Invite is all about personalization. They don’t make you use their pre-made color schemes, you can ALWAYS personalize to your taste.

There are so many different card companies on the Internet, and I will be honest…it can be hard to choose one. Thankfully, I’ll tell you a couple of reasons that Basic Invite is different:

{Almost Unlimited Colors} Basic Invite is one of the few websites that allows you almost unlimited color options with instant previews online. Once you select a design you can change the color of each element on the card to over 180 different color options so you can make sure the card is exactly how you want it down to the littlest detail. This is what I feel sets Basic Invite apart from the crowd.

{Custom Samples} Basic Invite is one of the few websites that allows you the ability to order a printed sample of the actual invitation so you can see exactly how it will print, as well as the paper quality before you ever have to place your final order.

{Over 40 Different Envelope Colors} Basic Invite is just as colorful with their envelopes as invitations. You can choose from over 40 different colors when it comes to the envelopes so that you can make your invitation stand out even before it is opened. All of their envelopes are peel and seal so the envelopes can be quickly and securely closed.

Basic Invite is even around to help with your “thank you” list after the graduation festivities are over. Sending a personalized thank you card is one way to show others that you care and are happy that they got to share this exciting time in your life.

(Again, you know me with the gold ;))

If graduation is coming up for your or someone in your family, be sure to checkout customizable graduation announcements. Basic Invite is anything but basic!

PS: The design I chose was the “confetti celebration” card. Again, you can customize to any color scheme you would like. For me, it’s all about the pink, white, and gold. Let me know in the comments what your favorite color scheme is.

XO,

Rebekah

The Best Rose Beauty Products

Happy Wednesday! I’m so happy that we are halfway through this week, because I have the MOST exciting weekend planned.  I am taking a spa day (Christmas gift) on Saturday with my friends followed by the Dallas Cowboys playoff game in Dallas on Sunday! My dad & I are headed down there on Sunday, and I can’t wait! I wanted to share today’s post on my favorite rose beauty products, because TRUST me your skin needs it. I don’t know what is up with this weather. One day it’s 30, one day it’s 70. That’s Arkansas weather for you. That being said, my skin has definitely taken the brunt of the weather. We are talking some DRY skin y’all. Good thing I have my favorite rose products to help me out!

Face mask // Salve (only $5.50!) // Hand cream // Marble tray

If you have sensitive skin, have no fear. I am allergic to several laundry detergents, sunscreens, etc. and these products worked very well for me. I was not allergic to them at all. Here’s how I use each one:

Rose face maskI have a special place in my heart for Peter Thomas Roth beauty products. They are high quality and made from amazingly powerful ingredients. This mask is a combination of five different types of rose stem cells! It has a very “bouncy” texture and goes on super smooth. For the winter, I apply a thin layer as the last step in my skincare routine. I leave it on overnight and wake up with smooth, glowing skin. HINT: pop this jar in the fridge before applying. When you apply the cold gel, it takes your spa night to a whole other level ;)

Rose salve: Don’t think of this as a lip salve only! My BFF, Ricci, used this salve and I actually never thought I would be a fan of it. However, my life was changed when I tried using this on my elbows. I think because I wear a lot of long sleeves in the winter, it just rubs my elbows and causes them to be dry and flaky. (weird, I know) I now apply this rose salve at bedtime to any areas that need extra moisture, and it works wonders. I like to use on my lips, elbows, and heels.

Rose hand cream: I love the Body Shop products. They smell amazing and work well with my skin. Being in the pharmacy all day, I have to wash my hands a lot. They get dried out super easy and the wind we’ve been having lately doesn’t help. This wild rose hand cream comes in handy! It helps moisturize my hands without causing a greasy mess.

SHOP THE POST:

I hope you love rose as much as I do. I would LOVE to hear what your favorite rose products are, so comment below ;) Also, if you know of any great perfumes that have a rose smell, let me know.

Rebekah

2017: The Year of FOCUS

I cannot be the only one who is not exactly sure where 2016 went? And the Holidays? Where did they go? It’s almost as if I blinked my eyes and it was already 2017! That’s okay though, because I am going to embrace it. This year, I chose a word that I believe will be the basis of my 2017: FOCUS.

focus, new year, whole 30, rebekaheliz

According to dictionary.com, FOCUS is defined as “a central point, as of attraction, attention, or activity”.

For me, I feel as if I’ve been sort of “going through the motions” for several years now. I was in school for SO long that I developed somewhat of a routine and I stuck to it. We are creatures of habit, and I am one of the world’s worst. I despise change. I LIVE FOR ROUTINE.

But is this always a good thing? I think it was Sunday at church when I really got to thinking. It almost just hit me like a ton of bricks. I stood there for a second and I was just like WOW. This is 2017, this is a new year, and this is a time for change.

I had written on Instagram that I wanted to take more time to stop and look around. As I was visiting the Oklahoma City Memorial on my mini vacation last weekend, I realized that so much life is happening around me. We aren’t guaranteed a single second of our lives. It could all be gone tomorrow, so this year I’m making an effort to FOCUS.

I want to FOCUS on the time at hand. I want to FOCUS on the specific patient I am helping at the time. I want to FOCUS on the meaningful relationships in my life. There are a four ways I want to achieve FOCUS:

*pray daily first thing in the morning & last thing of the day

*have at least 30 minutes of quiet time each day

*quit planning every second of every day

*rely less on my phone

I also wanted to share some other exciting news. 3 friends & I are starting “Whole 30” on Tuesday. We are meeting up on February 10th for a BFF weekend, so we will be on this eating plan for 30 days. I’m SUPER excited and went grocery shopping today. I’m ready to feel more energy and quit eating nasty fast food simply because it’s convenient. If any of you have done the Whole 30, please comment any tips/recipes below ;)

I hope you will join me this new year and FOCUS. Let me know what your resolutions and goals are for this year!

XO,

Rebekah
