Where to Stay in Montrose, Colorado: The Rathbone Hotel

I really miss Colorado! It was one of my favorite places I’ve ever visited. Thankfully, I found the best home base to travel around southwestern Colorado. The Rathbone Hotel is the perfect place to stay in Montrose, Colorado.

It’s conveniently located around 45 minutes from Ouray and about 80 minutes from Telluride.

As I travel more and more, I truly like finding places to stay that evoke the culture and heritage of the place I’m visiting. I used to stay mostly at chain hotels, but I don’t do that much anymore. When I was researching the area, I came across The Rathbone Hotel. It was right up my alley!

I came at a really unique time of year. I still got to see fall color, but I also got to see snowflakes falling.

My favorite part of my room? Well, there were several. The bed was SO comfortable! I slept like a baby. But I especially loved the bathroom. Why? Well, the huge soaking tub, obviously. I booked the premium soaking tub suite.

This suite was located on the 2nd floor and had huge windows! They had automated shades, which was a welcomed treat. The style of this hotel is so me. It’s renovated and new, but it’s located downtown for you to take in all the charm of Montrose itself. I can’t get over the green tiling in the shower, it’s so gorgeous!

Tip: there is no elevator on property, so keep that in mind.
