Happy (Travel) Tuesday everyone! I barely survived Monday, if you know what I mean ;) Since I shared my recap of the Four Seasons St. Louis last week, I thought I would share my favorite St. Louis eats. Because I was only in town for around 24 hours, I think eating three meals is pretty successful ;)
Sunday brunch: scape at Maryland Plaza
Maryland Plaza is a super cute little area, and we had brunch at scape American Bistro. It was actually voted Best Brunch by the Riverfront Times, and I can definitely see why. We got to eat outside on the beautiful outdoor porch in the back. The menu is impressive, and you will receive some beignets to munch on while you wait for your meal. On this particular day, they were filled with vanilla bean cream. YUM! I personally think they were better than any I had in New Orleans.
For my main course, I had the Pecan Praline Sourdough French Toast. This was out of the ordinary for me, because I prefer salty over sweet. However, I’ve never met a pecan I didn’t like ;) I highly recommend this dish, and it’s definitely big enough to split with someone else.
Monday breakfast: Cielo inside the Four Seasons
Cielo is conveniently located inside the Four Seasons. I know what you’re thinking, a hotel restaurant? YES. A million times yes. This is hands down the BEST hotel restaurant I’ve ever eaten. They have an abundance of choices for breakfast, and I finally got my salty here ;)
I chose the Cielo omelet, and I changed it up a bit. It had roasted shallots, oven dried tomato, bacon, and veche rossa cheese. THAT cheese y’all. I’ve never had it, but it was so so good. It was served with the breakfast potatoes & a bakery item of choice. I got a whole wheat bagel. AND you can’t beat the insane view of the Arch while you’re eating.
Monday lunch: Broadway Oyster Bar
Funny story, when I was checking out of the Four Seasons, one of my favorite Dallas Cowboys players was checking out. His name might or might not be Ezekiel Elliott ;) I’m telling you this because I was in such shock when I got to the oyster bar that it took me forever to calm down and order. I’m a HUGE Dallas Cowboys fan, ok? (PS I didn’t ask him for a picture, because I didn’t want to interrupt him. WHAT was I thinking?)
ANYWAYS, I finally settled on the NOLA style BBQ shrimp. OH. MY. GOODNESS. This dish was so so good. Like beyond. It was grilled shrimp in a mixture of butter, Worcestershire sauce, and cajun spices. Obviously anything with butter is good, but this was out of this world. It almost had a slight sweet taste to it. I highly recommend this dish!
What’s your fave restaurant in St. Louis? Be sure to visit last week’s hotel review on the Four Seasons if you haven’t already. Have a great rest of the week!
XO,
Rebekah
Discovering local food spots is one of my favourite things to do when travelling! That Pecan Praline Sourdough French Toast sounds amazing!
Oh girl, it was so good. And I’m usually opposed to sweets ;)

Scape looks like an amazing place to eat. I haven’t been to St. Louis, so I look forward to eating here when I finally do.
It’s in such a cool neighborhood!
Whenever I travel I love to check out places to eat. When I see people recommend certain places I book market so when I travel I can check out that restaurant. I am definitely going to add this to my list.
Sounds great, Jeanette! Enjoy STL!
I have heard that St. Louis is the place to go for awesome food. I would love to visit there one day and check out these places.

I agree, Marysa! I love trying new restaurants!
You are TOTALLY making me want to go back to St. Louie again! I love St. Louis and we go there a few times a year since it is only about a 5 hour drive from us. It is true – there are amazing places to eat there and I have eaten at a couple you listed. Thank you for the suggestions on the others!
It’s a five hour drive for me, too! Perfect road trip distance ;)
I loved all the food in St. Louis!! I think my favorite place to eat was Scape!!! YUM!!

Totally do it! It’s a fun city to explore!
The #1 thing (well, the only thing) I miss about St. Louis is the FOOD! We moved to Arizona a few years ago and thought we’d find awesome food here, especially Mexican food… but NOPE! St. Louis has the BEST food I’ve ever tasted. I love the pics. Thanks for sharing!
AW, I thought Arizona would have awesome Mexican food! Definitely go visit St. Louis!
I pass through St. Louis quite often when traveling, but never really actually stopped anywhere there. I definitely need to, though!
Yes, it’s such a fun city!
OMG That food… Especially that french toast. I am suddenly super hungry and wanting to go to St Louis.
I know, I really want some french toast now ;)
I also scope out the local grub when I travel desserts and bars mostly, but I can appreciate any hidden treasure. This place looks delicious.
I think I need to take a trip and just eat dessert ;)
Wow these places all look so great! The food looks super yummy!!
YES, you’ve gotta try them!
