Things to Do in Ouray, Colorado

Today I want to share my favorite things to do in Ouray, Colorado. Ouray is often called the Little Switzerland of America. Having been to Switzerland, I can 100% say this is true.

This beautiful town is located in Southwest Colorado in the picturesque San Juan Mountains.

One thing you must to do is visit the Ouray Hot Springs Pool. This family friendly pool is so warm! The hot pool is where I spent my time. The pool ranges in the high-nineties to just over 100 degrees fahrenheit. There is something SO special about soaking in the hot springs while looking up at the snow capped mountains. Don’t worry about the smell, this pool is sulfur-free due to geology and minerals.

The second must-do is Bear Creek Falls, just outside of town on the Million Dollar Highway. The view is absolutely beautiful, as you can see above. Hold your breath on the highway though, because it’s STEEP.

Thirdly, check out downtown and visit the Blue Pear to shop and the Outlaw for lunch. The Blue Pear is the cutest gift shop with some of my favorite brands. Be sure to pick up a Christmas ornament or an Ouray branded item. For lunch (or even breakfast), I recommend the Outlaw. This restaurant is right on Main Street and cooks up yummy food.
