Two Way Tuesdays: Smoothies!

It’s Tuesday and guess what that means?!?!

Today Ricci and I are going to share with you two of our very favorite smoothie recipes! Since we are both working on our fitness we have been experimenting a lot with smoothies lately. Sometimes I like one post-workout but I do a breakfast smoothie pretty much every morning.

Ricci’s Way:

Like I said above I am into a good morning breakfast smoothie. I love fruity smoothies first thing but I make sure to pack them full of protein too so it keeps me full until morning snack time. I realize I sound like I’m in daycare with my “morning snack” reference but I need one to keep my metabolism up. Anyway, here’s my fave smoothie recipe…I like to call it my Super Summer Fruit Smoothie!

Ingredients:

Orange Pineapple juice, Mixed Frozen Fruit (I used pineapples, strawberries, peaches, and mangos), Strawberry Greek Yogurt, Herbalife Personalized Protein Powder

Instructions:

1. Put first 3 ingredients in blender and blend until smooth.

2. Add a scoop pf protein into blender last and blend it in.

3. Enjoy!!!!

Also…sometimes I throw a handful of spinach in my smoothie for a veggie boost! You can’t taste it and it’s an easy way to get a good serving of veggies in.

Rebekah’s Way:

I LOVE a good smoothie. It really brings back memories of EARLY mornings going up to school at 6AM to study. And what better accessory than a smoothie that tastes yummy, is healthy, and is pretty?! I know, I’m pushing it with that last one, but stay with me here ;) AND I had to do a little adjusting since I’m at my grandparents. My usual blender is not with me right now.

Ingredients:

1/4 cup Steel Cut Oats (the Instant Oats work better…so try that!)

1/4 cup blueberries

1/4 cup strawberries

1 Strawberry Greek yogurt cup

6 ice cubes

Instructions:

Add ALL the ingredients to the blender & blend until smooth! It’s that EASY!
