Splurge vs. Save with Credit Card Insider

This post is coming to you all the way from Navarre, Florida! I have been here vacationing since Sunday & it’s wonderful! I hope you guys are soaking in that warm spring sun somewhere as well ;)

I was contacted by Credit Card Insider to feature a splurge vs. save post on a product I love! I was totally happy to do so, since it’s so important to save money when you can these days!  As part of their splurge vs. save campaign, I have been asked to find a great item that inspires me & find an item that is a much cheaper in order to make a smart buy.

This post is similar to my Splurge vs. Steal posts that I have been doing for a few weeks now. I was on the lookout for a fabulous geometric print tote of some kind that I could take to the beach! It needed to be roomy & obviously CUTE!

My go-to store for great deals is definitely Target! If you don’t have the Cartwheel app, get it now! What is Cartwheel? Well, let it speak for itself:

“Save on the things you already buy at Target with Cartwheel! Choose from hundreds of offers with discounts of 5-50% off every area of the store. Just add an offer to your Cartwheel list, scan your barcode in store, and save. It’s that easy. It’s like carrying around hundreds of coupons in your pocket, all neatly organized and accessible!”

Today Target is playing a HUGE role in my post as the SAVE! I found the most adorable, functional tote there. It was a great price & ON SALE! But first…my inspiration came in the form of a Jonathan Adler greek tote:

SPLURGE: Jonathan Adler Greek Key Tote, $198

AND the Target tote…

SAVE: Merona Diamond Print Tote, $34.99

(I apologize for no personal pictures…I forgot my Nikon at home!)

It’s so important to make good decisions with regards to purchases these days. When you can find a great item for 20% of the price, why wouldn’t you choose the less expensive one? I even think the Target tote is cuter than the Jonathan Adler one! It has definitely made it easy to tote my essentials to the beach this week & I have gotten lots of compliments!

So, what do you think? How is this for a great splurge vs. save?

Thank you to Credit Card Insider for allowing me to post in this campaign! Although I worked with this campaign, all thoughts & opinions are my very own.
